-
The premiere of 'Torotot (Destierro)' was a very pleasant experience. Aside
from the stars of the movie, namely Precious Adona, Baron Geisler, Anton
Bernar...
name: Baron Frederick Von Geisler hometown: Pampanga bday: June 5 (Clark Air Base, Angeles City) nationality: German-Filipino sports: Boxing, Taekwondo and Badminton
Baron Geisler just won Best Actor for his lead role in 'Jay'(2008) which won 'Best Picture' in the 2008 Cinemalaya Film Festival held at the Cultural Center of the Philippines.
Like the infamous shower scene of bold stars, Baron had to do a full frontal for 'Jay' which is the directorial debut of Francis Xavier Pasion.
The controversial actor will next be seen in 'Torotot'(2008) with Yul Servo, Anton Bernardo, Andrew Schimmer, Precious Adona and Maui Taylor where he also showed some skin. He also delivered an equally excellent performance in the Maryo delos Reyes film which is slated to premiere on August 9, 2008 at U.P. Film Institute and its regular run will start on August 20, 2008.
Arnold Reyes is slated to be a cast of the upcoming Adolfo Alix Jr. film entitled 'Kalayaan'(2008) together with hunk Joem Bascon and 'Shutter' star Ananda Everingham. He has become a familiar face on television with numerous ad campaigns. He was a featured model for Smart Telecommunications, McDonald’s, San Miguel Beer, Downy Fabric Conditioner, Wrigley’s Orbit Chewing Gum, Lucky Me Pancit Canton, Sarsa ni Mang Tomas, Talk ‘N’ Text, Benadryl, Kawasaki, Bacchus Energy Drink, Knorr Sinigang Mix, Coca-Cola and Globe Telecom. Arnold endorses the Pwede Card as Captain Pwede, one of the superheroes of PLDT & SMART. He is also the newest model of Facial Care Center For Men.
Arnold wrote the song 'Paano Na?', interpreted by Bituin Escalante, which garnered Second Prize honors at the 'Metro Pop 2000 Song Writing Festival'. In 2003, his composition "Kung Ako Ba Siya?", interpreted by Piolo Pascual, made it to the Finals at the 'Himig Handog Love Song', winning him the coveted Texters’ Choice Award. Arnold was also one of the Finalists at the first 'Mang Levi Celerio Song Writing Festival', with his song “Hanggang Saan, Hanggang Kailan”, interpreted by Ogie Alcasid.
His other film credits include 'Luv Text'(2001) as 1950s Band Singer; 'Big Time'(2005) as Young Manolo Sanchez; 'Kagat ng Dilim'; the Cinemalaya 2006 film entry 'Ang Huling Araw Ng Linggo' as Kulas; 'Ang Pinakamagandang Pelikula' as Kuya Brian; 'Barako' as Publisista; the Cinemalaya 2007 film entry, 'Pisay'; 'Condo' as Igno; 'Mt Bestfriend's Girlfriend'(2008) as Poet's Lover; and 'Adela'(2008).
Arnold wrapped up filming 'Pera-Perahang Lata' and 'Huling Biyahe' which is an advocacy film set for international release.
His short film, “Vendo”, directed by Chris Martinez, was awarded the Silver Prize at this year’s Southeast Asia TBWA Creative Directors’ Film Festival held at Bali, Indonesia. Arnold has also done yet another film with friends actress Angeli Bayani and writer/director Nick Olanka, who now studies at the Marilou Diaz-Abaya Film Institute. Their new short film is “Ekstra”, in which Arnold also plays opposite Cinemalaya 2007 Best Actress Ina Feleo.
At present, Arnold explores his talents further in the first Asian franchise of 'Camera Café'(2007) as Vince. Now on its third season, 'Camera Café' airs every Monday to Friday at 10am, 12nn, 1:45pm, 8pm (new episode) and 11pm on QTV, as well as on GMA right before Go Bingo.
But the most controversial item about Arnold is his love scenes with Paolo Paraiso in 'Imoral'(2008) which was recently featured in Cinemalaya which included a lot of passionate kissing and butt exposures.

One of the most promising young-sexy actors of this generation, Coco Martin was such a delight to watch in "Masahista" (The Masseur) in 2005 where he won 'Best Performance by Male or Female, Adult or Child, Individual or Ensemble in Leading or Supporting Role' from YCC.
He has come a long way since his appearance as (Russel C. Mon)Ivan's friend in "Luv Text" (2001) where he was known then as Rodel Nacianceno.
His other film credits include "Daybreak", "Condo", "Batanes", "Tambolista", "Nars", Pi7ong Tagpo", "Ataul For Rent", Siquijor", just to name a few.
One of his latest films is "Serbis", the Philippines' official entry to the Cannes Film Festival. I saw the movie at the Gateway cinema and obviously it had cuts which Pinoys are not allowed to view in public venues. Personally I did not like the film because of the crazy shots which put me to sleep for a few minutes or so and almost bored me to death exploring the dilapitated theater house. However, the storyline was very strong and daring, they obviously had a very good (brilliant) script. My favorite scene in the movie's when Jaclyn Jose was looking up and smiling at Kristofer King and Jaclyn dropped the plate she was holding when she realized that her husband (Julio Diaz) was standing right in front of her. There were times I could not 'hear' the dialogues because of too much ambient noise which they did on purpose. But all in all the movie was great, especially the sex scenes (did the gay guy really put King's in his mouth or was that just good blocking?).

Written by Dennis C. Evangelista, Paupahan is set in a slum area next to cemetery, made up of three unrelated but intertwining stories about the seemingly "living dead," marginal characters whose lives have hit a deadend.
According to Allen, "When it comes to logistic, production value and cast our movie it's closed to mainstream independent film. Pinaghirapan talaga namin siya. As in best effort to come up with a quality film. We are eyeing international market and festival abroad for this film..."
